Theatrical Trailer For The Dark Knight Rises Officially Online

Posted on Monday, December 19th, 2011 at 1:48 pm by TeddyBlass

After hitting theaters late Thursday night in front of the Mission: Impossible and Sherlock Holmes sequels, the first full length trailer for The Dark Knight Rises is officially online. We say officially because leaks have been out since the early morning on Friday, but we’ve chosen to honor Warner Bros. request to wait until the official online release in HD. But since that time is now, I’ll shut up and just post the trailer. Enjoy.

Warner Bros. isn’t allowing any embeds at the moment, but you can view the trailer in QuickTime HD via Apple now. The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway,  Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gary Oldman, Michael Cane, Morgan Freeman, and many more. As the final entry in Nolan’s trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20, 2012.

2-Minute The Dark Knight Rises Trailer Coming Next Week

Various reputable sources have long placed the first full length trailer for The Dark Knight Rises in front of Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows on December 16th. A trustworthy source of ours has confirmed this for us. They also told us that the trailer will be playing in front of Digital IMAX (non 70mm) showings of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol on December 16th as well. The 70mm IMAX showings of Mission Impossible will (obviously) be getting the 6-minute prologue instead. However, this offers an alternative to those not able to make it to one of the few dozen 70mm IMAX theaters.

We’ve also learned that the Government of Alberta just classified the upcoming trailer for The Dark Knight Rises. Coming in at 2 minutes and 3 seconds, the trailer has been rated PG according to the Canadian Motion Picture Rating system. Judging by the lengths listed for the other trailers listed, 2:03 appears to be the length of the trailer without the Green Band in front. It’s also almost the same exact length as the first full length trailer for The Dark Knight. Could Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan be looking to replicate their successful formulas?

Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows hit IMAX and regular theaters (respectively) on December 16, 2011 in the US and Canada.

UPDATE: Warner Bros. has pulled the leaked cam-rip of the teaser trailer down from YouTube.

Last night Collider posted a detailed trailer description for the teaser trailer to The Dark Knight Rises. Once it was confirmed accurate the internet began to buzz and chatter over the inevitability of a leak. After a couple hours it seemed to be just a hope for many, but now ArkhamCity.co.uk has gotten its hands on a cam-rip of the teaser trailer to The Dark Knight Rises that will be playing in front of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 on July 15th. I haven’t watched this myself, as I’m not really looking for my first experience of the movie to be a cam-rip, but consensus seems to be this is legit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dY2uk4s1jo

UPDATE (July 11, 2011): The teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises is real and has a running time of 1 minute and 26 seconds! The trailer was recently reviewed and classified by the Government of Alberta, which classifies all trailers that play in Alberta’s movie theaters. They have a list of recently classified trailers that details the date a trailer received its classification, which classification it has earned, and the running time of the trailer. Well today Trailer #1 for The Dark Knight Rises popped up on said list with a PG classification and a 1:26 running time. That running time likely doesn’t include the green band in front of the trailer. A photo released by a member (film4life) on SSH also confirms that the trailer will be attached to 2D and 3D showings of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. No word on when it will officially be online.

Rumors and speculation have long placed the teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises in front of showings of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, but now SuperHeroHype is turning that rumor into a trumor. According to the exclusive report by the popular superhero news site, a “trustworthy source” has informed them that a 1 minute and 33 second teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises will play with both 2D and IMAX 3D prints of the final Harry Potter film when it is released next week. We’ve tried to get this confirmed through some of our own sources, with no luck, but that doesn’t give us any real reason to distrust this report. SuperHeroHype is also claiming a teaser poster for the final Nolan directed Batman film is planned to hit theaters next week. Are you excited? Is a 1:33 running time for the teaser too little or too much? Do you even believe this rumor? Comment below!
