Hey guys! It’s that time of year again. I know many of you aren’t quite sure of what I’m talking about, but some of you NF veterans might remember last year when we celebrated NolanFans.com’s first birthday by launching the second version of Nolan Fans. Today, we’re launching the third.

Since last year, we haven’t made many huge changes around the site. The things that we’ve been working on this year are more of an improvement upon the things we introduced last year. And you’ve seen most of this already. Some examples of the things we launched within the past year are: updated film pages with box office and review statistics, awards listings, and poster galleries. In the media section, we’ve added more comprehensive screenshot galleries and updated our podcast page.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be updating many of these pages again, but that’s not what we’re talking about today. Today is the introduction of the new design for NolanFans.com. The biggest thing I should point out about the design is that it was built from scratch to the HTML5 specification and uses many CSS3 elements. The biggest change you’ll notice today is the header of the website. We’ve added a prettier navigation area, and we’ve increased the size of our rotating banners by eliminating the border. You’ll begin to notice more things improve around here as we gradually roll out new pages and features over the next few weeks.

The Nolan Fans community has grown larger and faster than Teddy and I had previously imagined. This past year has certainly been a trip. Inception was awesome. 2011 is going to be exciting. By this time next year, the entire production phase of Christopher Nolan’s eighth full-length feature film, The Dark Knight Rises, will be complete and we’ll likely have seen two trailers by then. I’m looking forward to the future here at Nolan Fans. More live podcasts await.

[UPDATE]: A major feature that we’ve launched today is the Disqus commenting system. Test it out by posting a comment below. Make sure you register for an account to secure the username that you’re known as from our forums.

NolanFans.com: Year Two

Posted on Wednesday, January 13th, 2010 at 11:03 pm by TeddyBlass

There’s a birthday to celebrate today! NolanFans.com‘s birthday in fact! A year ago today, Alex and I set off on a journey to build the biggest and best fan community for director Christopher Nolan. We’ve accomplished a lot this year, and we are very thankful for all of you, the fans, who’ve made a lot of it possible! Our community here continues to grow at great rates every week.

Over the past year we have followed the production of Nolan’s next motion picture, Inception. We added hundreds of photos from its production and filming, and we also added extensive screenshot galleries from all of Nolan’s films. We added downloadable versions of the screenplays for his films. We launched an audio podcast that has flourished into a neat project that now includes video live-streaming. We launched a YouTube channel with HD trailers, tv spots and other various Nolan related videos. And that’s not all.

Over the next year we hope to grow, and improve. Our goal is to continually raise the bar. To celebrate year two of NolanFans.com we launched a brand new design and layout. We are always looking for ways to improve the website, its content and its functionality. So take a look around. Let us know what you think. We are going to be adding new content and whatnot over the next couple weeks, so keep your eyes peeled.

Thanks for everything, everybody! Cake will be served shortly. icon wink NolanFans.com: Year Two

Nolan Fans Moves to a New Server

Posted on Friday, May 22nd, 2009 at 9:32 pm by AlexHaas

Hey guys, over the past several weeks, the server that originally hosted the website since its launch has been struggling to keep up with the website’s ever increasing traffic. We’ve been struggling to find a solution for this problem, but we knew all along, that we had to buy a new server…so we did. We moved NolanFans.com over to the new server just after midnight last night, and I’ve got to tell you – this thing is FAST! We can guarantee that this new server will have nearly zero outages (versus the one old crashing twice a week) and that you’ll be able to navigate through our website faster than ever before. Do you notice any speed improvements? Comment below!

mementogalleryfilm Memento Screenshot Gallery Arrives at Nolan Fans

Since all of the juicy info on Inception is still being kept under wraps, we would like to entertain you with our latest addition to the website; the Memento Screenshot Gallery! Released in late 2000, Memento was Christopher Nolan’s second feature-length film. It gained substantial word-of-mouth from the film festival circuit, which included the Venice Film Festival − where it received a standing ovation. Commercially it pulled in a very respectable $39 million in worldwide box-office sales, with a budget of only $9 million. Memento follows Leonard Shelby, a man who suffers from anterograde amnesia, which he contracted from severe head trauma during the attack on his wife. To cope with his condition, he maintains a system of notes, photographs and tattoos to record information about himself, others and his wife’s killer − whom he must find. This gallery is complete with 102 screenshots captured in their full DVD resolution. Enjoy!
