dicaprio loseweight DiCaprio Ordered to Lose Weight for Inception Fight ScenesIt’s starting to seem that Christopher NolansInception is going to be packed with fight scenes. We’ve seen bits and pieces of the hallway scene in the teaser and now these photos from Tangier show some more fist-throwing action. These fight scenes seems like they’re going to be very physically demanding on the cast, as you may have caught from the title of this story, Mr. DiCaprio here, needs to lose some weight. Here’s what we’ve heard from a set source:

“Leo needs to shed at least 30lbs. He’s gained weight recently and looks almost a bit flabby, which isn’t good, especially as the camera adds pounds. There’s an action scene coming up at the end of the year in which he needs to appear emaciated, so the pressure is on. Leo isn’t the kind of guy who can just lose a radical amount of weight though – he gets very nervous about it. He’s following a strict diet and is embarking on a rigorous workout regime. He hopes to lose the weight through the old fashioned way of cutting back on calories and upping his exercise. Leo’s a pretty determined kind of guy, when he sets his mind to things he always achieves them. Though this is going to be hard for him, you can guarantee he’ll succeed.”

parisfilmingday3 1x Inceptions Character Names RevealedUntil earlier this week, we’ve been completely lost in the dark when it comes to details concerning Christopher Nolan’s Inception. While we are still, very much, lost in the dark, we are starting to see the first rays of light transverse the horizon.

Inception has been filming in Paris all this week and we’ve been hit with a tidal wave of photos. One image, in particular, is a shot of a Call Sheet for the cast. Bonus: it lists character names. Ellen Page is Ariadne, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Arthur, Tom Hardy is Eames, Ken Watanabe is Saito, Dileep Rao is Yusef, Cillian Murphy is Fischer, Tom Berenger is Browning. Leo DiCaprio’s name is missing from the list, but we’re assuming that the name Cobb refers to him. The name Cobb is listed in the first cast slot and character slot.

At the San Diego Comic-Con 2009, Gary Oldman was starring on a panel for one of his upcoming movies when he was asked about Batman 3. He replied saying,

I think the next Batman is next year. We start shooting next year for a release in two years. You didn’t hear that from me.

This is sure a strange way to hear of any semi-official news regarding a third Batman film.UPDATE: (video) Gary Oldman interview that took place outside of The Book of Eli panel room.

Inception Shooting at University College London

Posted on Thursday, July 16th, 2009 at 2:42 am by AlexHaas

tour 1 300x225 Inception Shooting at University College LondonWe are receiving reports hinting that Christopher Nolan’s next film, Inception has begun filming at University College London (UCL).

The film crew for “Oliver’s Arrow” today invaded UCL’s Wilkins building to film some scenes in various locations within the Main Library. Michael Caine, Leonardo di Caprio and Ellen Page were on location filming scenes in what had been dressed up (with fake signage) to be the “Bibliotheque” of the “Ecole de Architecture” in France.

From what we’re been able to hear so far, there was a scene being shot in the Flaxman Gallery (a section of the Main Library on campus) with Leonardo DiCaprio’s character being introduced to a graduate student named Ariadne (possibly Ellen Page) by Michael Caine’s character. Apparently, DiCaprio’s character had a job offer for her. We’ve also heard that some other scenes were being shot in a lecture theater, a reading room, and some other locations inside the Main Library.

Michael Caine looked like he was playing a similar character to the one he always plays lately, Ellen Page looked like a plucky young student, and Leo di Caprio just looked moody and “focused” (toying with the toothpick-in-between-the-teeth look).

The last part with the toothpick made me laugh. It’s a lot of information here and we’re fortunate for DivisionofJoy posting it on the IMDb forums. So, what can you guys make of all this? Let’s hear some of your comments!
