Batman 3 News Rumors

Ahh yes, it’s that time again. Time for the Batman 3 rumors. And no, this isn’t the rumor to end all rumors like we were hoping for. This rumor (soon to be trumor?) comes from Nikki Finke, the respected Hollywood journalist from Deadline.com. In an article about why Goyer is leaving the TV show he helped create (FlashForward), Nikke sites Batman 3 as one of the reasons:
“Of course, Goyer’s feature career is really heating up, since he co-wrote Batman Begins, and penned the story for The Dark Knight, and is now writing the third Batman installment with Chris Nolan’s brother Jonah. ‘As my feature projects have started ramping up again, I felt I was being pulled in too many directions,’ Goyer said in a statement.”
Perhaps this is something Nikki Finke has been told in confidence, or it’s very possible she could just be speculating. Hopefully we will have more confirmation on the validly of this statement soon. And considering this story is going to be all over the internet this week, I suspect we might. Read the full article over at Deadline.com.

A few weeks ago, we heard that the Inception crew was packing their bags and heading north to a snow fortess in Kananaskis, Canada. The image that we saw earlier of this “abandoned ski hill” reminded some of us about the mountainous locations in Batman Begins. Anyways, we’ve been pretty clueless as to what has been happening up in Canada mainly because they’ve deployed a 24/7 security team around the filming location’s perimeter. The Calgary Herald reports that, that atop this snow mountain, Christopher Nolan wants the entire cast to learn to ski.
“He wanted all of the actors that were involved here, (Nolan) wanted them to learn to ski,” says Matt Mosteller, a professional ski coach and vice-president of marketing and sales for Resorts of the Canadian Rockies, which owns Nakiska, as well as B.C. resorts Fernie and Kimberley.
“He’s super detail-oriented . . . (Nolan) wants everything right. If you’re portraying it, you’ve got to be able to do it.”
Exactly how much of the movie involves high-speed ski chase scenes with automatic weapons will likely remain a mystery until its release next year.

IMAX and Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that Inception will be released to IMAX theatres simultaneously with the film’s wide release in conventional theatres on July 16, 2010. The film will be digitally re-mastered with IMAX DMR technology. This marks the third IMAX project for Christopher Nolan, and the debut for multiple Oscar nominee, and star of the film, Leonardo DiCaprio.
“Chris Nolan and IMAX have proven to be ideally suited to each other, and we’re very excited to bring them back together again for Inception,” said Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. Picture’s president of domestic distribution. “With the rapidly growing IMAX network, our IMAX audience base for this release will be significantly larger than it was for The Dark Knight, which will add to the film’s event status.” IMAX CEO Richard L. Gelfond proclaims “This is an incredible addition to our exciting and growing 2010 film slate. Chris Nolan’s unique vision combined with the talents of Leonardo DiCaprio and the rest of the cast creates the kind of cinematic event that resonates very well with IMAX moviegoers.”
This confirms that there will not be any footage shot an the actual IMAX film format, but rather that the 35mm film will be blown up to IMAX, à la Batman Begins.
