chastain interstellar Jessica Chastain To Join Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar

Deadline is reporting that Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain is in talks to star in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. The report claims that Chastain will play the third lead in the upcoming sci-fi film, alongside Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway. Nolan has never had trouble attracting talent to his films, and the way this cast is shaping up, that’s never been more true. Chastain received her second Oscar nomination for her role in last year’s Zero Dark Thirty, while Hathaway won the Oscar for her supporting role in Les Misérables, and McConaughey is currently getting loads of recognition for his roles in the recent films Mud and Killer Joe.

Interstellar is set to be released November 2014 in IMAX and theaters everywhere. What do you think of this news? Comment below!

Anne Hathaway Set To Star In Interstellar

Deadline is reporting that Anne Hathaway is close to finalizing a deal to star with Matthew McConaughey in Interstellar. The Oscar winner recently co-starred in Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, and the award-winning Les Misérables. This report comes not long after Deadline broke that Matthew McConaughey was set to star in the film’s lead role — news which the actor later confirmed. Hathaway’s addition brings in at least one familiar face from Nolan’s filmography, a common casting decision for the director. Not much is known about either character in the film yet, nor is there much to say about the plot of Interstellar.

As we reported last week, Christopher Nolan was recently location scouting for the film in Iceland — a sign that pre-production is well underway, and production is likely not too far around the corner either. Interstellar is set to enter theaters and IMAX alike on November 7, 2014.

UPDATE (4.12.12): We’ve added the six photos from the Entertainment Weekly article to our story gallery below via Batman-News.

Entertainment Weekly‘s Summer Movie Preview issue is about to hit shelves, and gracing the cover is none-other-than The Dark Knight Rises. The cover photo is that off Christian Bale as Batman and Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle – aka Catwoman. Expect a write-up on the inside of the issue as well, but don’t expect too much. Nolan is as reluctant as ever. “So what can I not tell you about my film,” he told the magazine while on break from editing the much anticipated film.

Even so, Nolan did expand upon our first preview of Rises and shared some intel about Batman’s latest cinematic adversaries. First, there’s Bane (played by Inception alum Tom Hardy), a cunning, hulking terrorist with a menacing respirator-mask and a small army bent on sacking Gotham City. “He represents formidable physical strength, combined with absolute evil of intention,” says Nolan.

Hardy also jumps in the mix and gives some of his thoughts regarding his character’s voice, saying, “It’s a risk, because we could be laughed at — or it could be very fresh and exciting.” He also adds, “The audience mustn’t be too concerned about the mumbly voice. As the film progresses, I think you’ll be able to tune to its setting.”

losangeles pu 2 Production Update #11: The Giant Los Angeles Wrap Up

It’s been a little over a month since we last did a production update about Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, but don’t let that fool you, they’ve been busy filming in Los Angeles ever since. Amateur photos have popped up online here and there over the last few weeks, as well as a number of videos, but in relation to past filming locations, the filming in Los Angeles has been sort of low-key. Christian Bale, Marion Cotillard, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy and some others have all been spotted on set over the past couple weeks. Some major action sequences were filmed in streets of Los Angeles, and like all location reports, minor spoilers are bound to be revealed. If you don’t care to see photos and videos from the Los Angeles filming or learn what they’re of, read no more. Read the rest of this entry »

tdkr rogues Production Update #8: Gotham Goes Rogue

The Dark Knight Rises has received a lot of attention since it began filming in Pittsburgh less than two weeks ago. We’ve seen dozens of photos and videos of Tom Hardy as Bane on set. We just recently got our first look at Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle. Cameras have caught the Tumbler and the Bat-Pod driving on the streets Pittsburgh. Pictures of the fake snow on set have reminded much of America (suffering from heatwaves) of cooler weather. But now attention is turning towards the fake football game being filmed at Heinz field this weekend. The Gotham Rogues will be facing off against the Rapid City Monuments in what is said to be one of the key moments of filming in Pittsburgh.

With the big day imminent, stuff is starting to leak online. A photo of the Rogues football uniform has been revealed via Twitter. The team colors should be familiar to Pittsburgh Steelers fans and football fans alike. Black and yellow, black and yellow! Yeah yeah, that joke is old, I know. These team colors not only wink at the Steelers colors, which are prominent inside of Heinz Field as well, but they’re a nice nod to the iconic black and yellow Bat-symbol from the comics and Tim Burton Batman films. Local news station WPXI sent a helicopter over Heinz Field this week and took 8 minutes of footage of what is being done inside the stadium to prep for filming. Team logos are being painted on the field, and that’s not all. It looks like the art departments have been doing a lot other manipulation to the field as well. Some might think it a bit spoilery, so check out the video after the jump.
