Did Teddy tell the truth at the end of the movie?

The famous 2000 film that put Christopher Nolan on the map tells the story of a man on the hunt for the man he thinks killed his wife.

Did anyone see these two things at the end of the movie? When Sammy was in a mental home the camera gets very close up to him sitting on a chair, then a person walks by, obstructing the view of the audience, and Sammy turns into Lenny. This helps support Teddy's accusation that Lenny is actually Sammy. Unless you believe that Lenny has a solid memory of his wife when he says his wife was not diabetic. Therefore, he is not Sammy.

The other thing that was very subtle but clear if ur fast enough was that when lenny is driving in the final scene of the film the camera flashes to his wife with her hand on Lenny's bare chest next to a new tattoo that says: I've done it (which is right under his older tattoo which says that he needs to kill the person who raped and killed his wife). What does this mean:

The good thing about Lenny being able to remember everything up to his wife's death is that she may not have died after all. She may have put him in a home, but he went off on his own to get revenge. And after doing so, she takes him back in, despite his short term memory loss, b/c he is not like Sammy, he moves past his disability to do something that is meaningful to his wife: he avenges her. So Teddy is a liar, and Lenny killed the right guy, and he did it based on facts with help from Natalie. And his wife isn't dead after all. And Lenny gets his life back!! :goNF:

That tattoo would still be there, if it was real though?

I don't think that scene is "real", either. IMO it takes place in Leonard's mind.
Leonard desperately needs a purpose in life, and maybe that scene represents the (impossible) ultimate fulfillment for him: avenging his wife AND having her back.

Teddy was a liar, but I don't think he lied in the final scene. There's no gain for Teddy to lie to Leonard at that point, Lenny would just forget about it after a few minutes...making whatever Teddy said meaningless.
