Yea, you make a good point there RIFA. None of the leaked information, so far, is shocking or groundbreaking. It's been overhyped by the media.

that's not the point. the point is that NOW everyone KNOWS. the ordinary guy knows it now...

He knew before but not from a valid source (not to mention how many ordinary guys do really give a crap about wikileaks and what they "leaked"..??? I still know many people who don't care exactly because there's nothing really that outrageous... so people don't really care what conversations had Merkel with Cheney or whatever... They have a more important thing to do... which is survive, put food on the table and take care of their family... ). So what's the point?... That's like saying Bush did 10 mistakes without having a valid proof but you know the mistakes he did. Now, these 10 mistakes are known by the public thanks to some stenographs that leaked. So you have the valid proof/sources. You'll say... "Okay, yeah, nice... but I already knew that."...

you're wrong. most people have no clue about politics and it has nothing to do that they have other things to do. they just dont get the information. most people only use one source for their information. for example, most conservatives in the usa only watch fox news. that means, they believe everything what fox news tells them. no other options for them. it is right that wikileaks didnt come up with serious information at the moment but i dont think thats too bad. the general public got the information. before that...everyone knew there was something going on, but now it's on paper, that's a huge difference...

I know that's not the point, but the media has been going at this WikiLeaks thing as if it was groundbreaking. I just don't get all the hoopla (it has died down recently though. The media always has that one story they beat like a dead horse).

i dont think that it is a suprise that the media makes a big headline about it. thats the way they work. it is not the first time and it wont be the last time..

It's not about stories published by Wikileaks that are groundbreaking. Many people knew about that. It's just that they somehow managed to get proof which no one else was able to.

And if they managed to get that proof using illegal methods then they will become not victims but "criminals" in both the eyes of the media and the general public. That's the main problem. Not only the information revealed was not groundbreaking but they got into a lot of sh*t for something that most of the people knew already. If it was something about UFO's, Kennedy, Obama saying "I'm the devil" and so on... then at least they would go to jail but they would have the support of the public. But in this case... everyone is like ... "meh... who cares?" ..
