Couldn't agree more mate. Vangelis's score is simply sublime, and nearly as emotionally charged (for me anyway) as Hans's Inception effort! :)

In fact, if there were one movie I wish Nolan had directed, it would have been Casino Royale, the story and the themes represented are all very Nolanesque.

This is the most perfect post I have ever seen.

CR seems exactly like a James Bond movie by Nolan.

Plus I love the word Nolanesque, I use it as well.

Blade Runner, easily. It's one of the most visually impressive films I've ever seen - how it manages to seamlessly mix an Asianised metropolis in with a noir-ish Los Angeles with some incredible cinematography and effects is beyond me. Also, it presents the many themes of film noir - the search for identity etc. in original and exciting ways.

I adore Blade Runner but if you want the perfect noir movie it would be The Chinatown wich is also one of Nolan's favorite movies and I think it defines the genre, probabaly the best american noir film of all time. £
