I'm not sure if you guy have seen this, but here are some interesting quotes from Nolan. He sounds very confident.

"I think this is the biggest one I've done," declared The Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan, adding, "The biggest one anyone's done since the silent era, in technical terms."

The Playlist uncovered some choice quotes from Nolan's recent interview with Empire about making his final Batman film."It's all about historical epics in conception. It's a war film. It's a revolutionary epic. It's looking back to the grand-scale epics of the past, really, and for me that goes as far back as silent films," said Nolan.

The filmmaker continued: "I've been watching a lot of silent films with my kids on Blu-Ray. We've shot over a third of the movie on the IMAX format, and that naturally puts you more in the mode of staging very large events for the camera. It's my attempt to get as close to making a Fritz Lang film as I could. It's also more in the mould of Doctor Zhivago, or A Tale Of Two Cities, which is a historical epic with all kinds of great storytelling taking place during the French Revolution. There's an attempt to visualise certain things in this film on this large scale that are troubling and genuinely to the idea of an American city. Or, to put it another way: revolutions and the destabilising of society have happened everywhere in the world, so why not here?"

The fact that his back was covered in acne on set was a pretty good sign also. Im not saying his gains are unbelievable, but take it from someone who is very much into lifting 3 months is too short of time period.

Anyways can we move the attention back to TDKR..

Im also very into lifting. I disagree. You have to take into consideration that:
1) This man has a very, very good frame for putting on lots of weight. He has shorter arms and a wide torso/Shoulders but isn't so tall that the muscle he gains will be long and lean. He has a very good starting point even if he had lifted no weights at all.
2) Carried over from the last point, he had been lifting weights prior to this movie. His roles in Warrior and Tinker-T-S-S did not demand for him to become any smaller, although I'm sure he lost some of the weight, and from Warrior to this movie also lost some of his cutting work. That said, he wasn't exactly a small individual when he started training for this movie.
3) He isn't exactly cut up in this movie. That means, and I know you know this so I'm not trying to insult you, that he ate and he ate A LOT. He basically has unlimited resources as far as protein, BCAAs, creatine, beta-alanine, test boosters, you name it. He was quoted as saying he ate "a whole village of chickens every day." Keep in mind that ingesting that many carbs/calories and protein a day with the physique he had prior to training probably makes this more achievable than you'd think. He has unlimited money, probably a personal chef, and definitely a personal trainer who specializes in these type of workouts. Also, he was probably working out most of the day and the rest was spent eating and sleeping. It's an ideal situation for putting on extreme muscle and something you or I can't really do because we have regular jobs, school, etc.
4) The acne on his back is nothing. I have friends who lift super hard and they are just unfortunately stricken with it. I was before I took Accutane. Some of the places in the works where they filmed weren't exactly cold while they were shooting. Heat combined with having to constantly wear a barrage of jackets and vests makes you sweat and then holds that sweat against your body. That will make LOTS of people break out. That to me is a reasonable explanation.

I think its completely possible without steroids if you look at it. That's just my two cents. And I'm in no way trying to insult your intelligence or knowledge on lifting. I'm just trying to logic through a non-anabolic way to do it.

Also, if you want to see a picture of me to make sure I'm not just talking out of my ass I do not mind obliging lol. Not to be a tool.

To be honest after seeing a couple more set pics I probably overeacted and for that im sorry. From the official pics ive seen he looks alot bigger than he does on set. So he probably could have achieved where he is at without steroids. That doesnt change the fact in my opinion I think it is a pretty common thing in hollywood to put on weight for roles. I dont need a pic of you lol i believe you.
Its so hard to tell with his vest on though: he doesn't look very big here.

And just want to make it clear not bitching about Bane, I love everything about the character so far and hardy is one of my favorites.

He's a massive guy already. Here he is in Warrior. Then, he does T-T-S-S, loses some of that weight, then all he has to do is put it right back on. Cake.

^ Agrred.

For the record, I'm the same age as Tom and I've been lifting for years. The only acne I have is on my back, so does that mean I'm on steroids too?

Did you read ANY sentence of C8's post?

Lol not really, I just saw there was more talk about it and wanted to put an end to the conversation. C8 was pretty spot on though, sorry man.

If you're doing hard work outs, and eating 4 times your body weight in carbs, 1.5 times your body weight in protein, with no restrictions on any fats, I guarantee that you will put on waaaaayyy more mass than Tom Hardy has in 3 months.

Your problem may be not working out properly, or not feeding your body right.

Yeah the fact that he is so much more cut in Warrior makes his physique look a lot more filled out. And his traps were insane in that movie.
Turns out Morgan Freeman just revealed a bomb of a spoiler on Business Insider.
One of the big questions in my little universe: Will your character, Lucius Fox, make it out of the "Dark Knight Rises" alive?
Yeah.

How does it feel to be done with the Batman series?
I don't see it so much as being done with it. It's the end of a chapter, that's all.

His answer to that last question would lead one to believe
