If anyone saw that magazine with the stills the other day, I was absolutely ecstatic when Nolan said that TDKR draws inspiration from A Tale of Two Cities. I could see Nolan doing a brilliant adaptation of that.

It (the book) doesn't have all the twists of stuff Nolan signs onto/creates, but the filmwork would be amazing, and I'd like to see him take on a period piece. The class he'd bring to the cinematography would really do the novel justice. I think he and Jonathan could produce a wonderful screenplay for it, too.
Unfortunately, I don't believe that it would be a tenth as good as the book. I've always thought the only person who could direct SL-5 was Stanley Kubrick but I hear his health isn't too good these days.
