If anyone saw that magazine with the stills the other day, I was absolutely ecstatic when Nolan said that TDKR draws inspiration from A Tale of Two Cities. I could see Nolan doing a brilliant adaptation of that.

Hell yes! I would love to see him do something thriller-y or horror-y. I could see him adapting something by Neil Gaiman or Stephen King. I think Nolan will want to tackle a new genre after TDKR. Inception was originally conceived as a horror movie, but ended up blending science fiction (the alternate realities seen in The Matrix and Dark City, also written by Goyer), heist (the vault motif), and spy films (the third dream level is very similar to a Bond film, like The Spy who Loved Me and Tomorrow Never Dies).

But for those hoping for something fresh for Nolan, and something big budget and spectacular, I would say look no further than Rendezvous with Rama. It is from author Arthur C Clarke, partner of one of Nolan's idols, Stanley Kubrick. In fact, the zero g scenes in 2001 inspired the hallway scene in Inception.

I predict Nolan's next film will be based off of a novel. The only original intellectual property he's introduced since his discovery was Inception. Memento, Insomnia, BB, TDK, TDKR, and The Prestige were all works before he adapted them. Unfortunately for us, with the exception of the Batman trilogy, the common link between all these works is that they are based off of little-known, obscure novels/film. Nolan will adapt something, but we won't see it coming and I doubt we'll be even begin to guess at what it is.

In light of Bradbury's passing I'd think many of his tales would make great film adaptations with someone of Nolan's vision at the helm. It's been a long time since I read Bradbury, so I have a hard time mentioning one in particular...

Agatha Christie's 10 Little Indians would be amazing:-) I love that book! Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead, I would love to see him do THE ILLUSTRATED MAN by Ray Bradbury, I think that would epic..I also would love to see him do The Night Circus... I think it would be interesting to see his take on something like Wicked or Wizard of Oz, there are so many books running through my head right now, Im definitely going to have to come back to this thread, I need to read everybody's suggestions:-)

I think he could do wonders with The Prestige by Christopher Priest.
