I'm hoping for semi-twist during the climax. Something logical and cool, an ace up Bruce's sleeve and everything will fall into place.

I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with whatever Nolan delivers, twist or no.

they will mess with Bruce mind

cat will steal all his stuff

ras daughter tali will tell him she loves him but she knows he killed her father but that's a lie she hates him he will get played so bad
and bane will beat him down

it will be so bad that you will feel sorry for Bruce

then at the prison they will tell him a story of the only man to climb the wall of the prison and that was bane

Bruce does this and he rises at the end and will beat bane

bane in the comics wore Bruce down in the movie it will be mental

Bruce will be so messed up you will cry

In the comics Talia and Bruce were lovers they even had a child together, Talia hid the child from Bruce and raised her within the LOS, Damian now holds the title of the latest kid boywonder. They never were together because of their differences but there was a true love there between the two of them, she is actually the one woman Batman/Bruce truley loved and to be totally honest I would hate to see that turned upside down.

I brought this up months ago, but with chaotic rebellion on the streets of Gotham there are clear parallels with the Occupy Movement in real-life.
Bane is attacking the wealthy (at least at first). He may seek to obtain a public following by using the ideals similar to the '99% vs 1%' in real-life.

But, this is what I'm unsure about; if Batman is clearly fighting alongside the cops (societal guardians governed by the elite) and Bruce is a billionaire who's been embezzling his money to 'fight crime' but has only so far escalated violence, then how the hell are the 99% of the audience in real-life going to be on his side in the final battle?

I'd probably be closer to Bane's side... until he revealed plans to blow-up a city, obviously.

I'm hopeful Nolan can pull this off, but I can't help but think that there will exist an undertone of the 1% having defeated a semi-valid rebellion.

Great post, I was actually thinking about the exact same thing. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Perhaps Bane's real intentions (whatever they may be) will cause the audience to side with Batman.

Hahahahahaha! I think you are over thinking this too much. If we analyze Batman as something more than a superhero and therefore, nothing else than entertainment, we are going to find ourselves in an ugly corner. I mean, he is a rich guy, right? The best way he could fight crime is to invest some of his money in Gotham's poor neighborhoods, parks, basketball courts and cultural activities. That is just one way, but there are others. Instead Bruce decides to punch the lights out of criminals. That's borderline fascist, even more if we take into account that he is RICH!!! He is, as a friend put it, a tool for maintaining the status quo.

On the other hand I think Nolan will find a clever way out of that conundrum. Hmmmh... why are we so sure that Bane is attacking the wealthy? Is it his stadium speech? I think that can be interpreted as Harvey's lie, not necessarily as an attack to the wealthy. Is it catwoman comment?

Great post, but honestly I don't want any political mumbo jumbo in this movie, leave the real life parallels out and lets escape from real life if for only a couple of hours. Last thing I want is to have to sit through 2 1/2 hours of someones view on political righteousness! If that was the case I'd pop in a George Lucas film. But still awesome post!
