Have you seen the trailer #3 ?

Post Master Virgo May 1, 2012, 4:44 pm

I think a lot of people really don't appreciate the first viewing. It's a completely different experience.

Personally I enjoyed watching TDK in my 5th time and Memento in my 4th time the most, but I would give anything to take back my chance for watching those films for the first time. Nothing is really like it. If you get the chance to enjoy every single great thing about TDKR for the first time in the first viewing then that's a hell of an experience. That's what I tried about Inception and it still is my favorite first viewing among all of Nolan films.

People say what's the difference we enjoy 98% or 100%. They are the same. Who cares about some tiny little details here and there. But I want the damn 100%. Or at least as close as it could get.

No; not yet. I'm waiting to see it on the big screen at The Avengers midnight premiere. I broke down and watched a bootleg of Trailer # 2 like an hour before I went to see Sherlock Holmes. It was still awesome, but not as cool as seeing it for the first time. Since this is the final trailer to the final Nolan Batman film, I'm waiting to see it on a big screen in a few days. I think it will make the experience even better.

When I watched the truck flip in The Dark Knight in the theatre on opening day, I did not think, "Oh yeah, I saw that shot in the trailer." I was just too engrossed watching the film. So yes, I disagree with those who think that watching trailers diminishes the first view experience.

Trailers are meant to create excitement... not to spoil lol.

I can understand not watching ANY trailer of one movie. But if you've seen the first 2 trailers... not seeing the 3rd is so LOL... Like really?

I mean Teddy avoided both the 2nd and the 3rd trailer, he avoided the international trailer as well and every feature/clip for Prometheus. That's a whole different thing than watching everything except the 3rd trailer

Well, I've seen the trailer #2 and the Prologue but with such low quality and deliberately not paying attention that I've already forgot a lot about them. Let alone till December.

But trailer #3 is different. They always show more important things about the film in Trailer #3.

Nolan's third trailers show a huge, huge amount of the movie, so much various film and news sites have complained they may have been shown too much. TDK's third gave away the central drive for the first half of the movie, all the major moneyshots, and what happens to Dent. Inception doesn't give much actual story, but shows every major moneyshot/setpiece and gives away almost every action/visual surprise of the movie.

Without having seen the trailer, I obviously cannot say, but even before Teddy convinced me to skip it, some friends and I were already discussing the idea of skipping specifically the third one for that reason. I was opposed to the idea at first, but they came to that conclusion for a reason.

They don't show all the money shots. Actually, the best money shots are not even in the trailer. They don't show too much at all... those sites must be retarded. As for the story, they didn't show anything more than what was already known.
