The publishing of Titan Books' The Dark Knight Rises is timed to reach consumers worldwide on the same day as the Warner Bros. Pictures release. "The Dark Knight Rises" opens in theatres on Friday, July 24, 2012.

That's straight from the press release. They could at least get the date right. Even the Amazon and Barnes & Noble listings for the novelization show July 24.

For the soundtrack....anyone hear about a release date for that?

If I remember correctly - I remember being in Best Buy like a week before TDK came out and looking at the CD, seeing the track titles and thinking... - for someone who hasn't seen the film yet, this could just nudge someone into spoiler territory by listening to it.

I'll have to resist the urge to listen to it before seeing the film. Imagine not having seen Inception and listening to the amazing end track (Time). That would be a spoiler in itself, and I find it annoying that they release soundtracks beforehand.

I just mean that it's a great track and would ruin the impact of the ending by initially listening to it... out of context, if you will.

Oh I'll buy it the second it's released. However, it will remain sealed until I walk out of the theater. Now that's discipline. :)

Well... it was the only song from the soundtrack thatI listened to before watching the film and it didn't spoil the movie for me, in fact, I was completely and fully overhelemed by the film that I stared at the credits for about 5 minutes and got up slowly :D

I want those moments like the Mercs diving off the plane to be a total surprise, because the music blew me away like nothing else had. So I wont listen to the score beforehand. Maybe Catwomans theme but thats it.
