Just found this. Sorry if it's been posted before...

http://www.thecinematographer.info/arti ... nolan.html

Seems to indicate that they're following the TDK process of using 35mm and IMAX but makes no mention of Panavision 65mm scenes...

Good article. Maybe better in General thread, though.

Wally Pfister appreciation thread

Post EnzoTheBaker April 5, 2012, 7:47 am

Nice interview. I liked this part:
Q: So what have you been doing at Cardington?
WP: Blowing things up, having fun creating devastation, and shooting great action sequences.

Also, I think this thread should now be all about Wally Pfister.

50 minutes of IMAX?

That's awesome. That's what, a third of the runtime?

Films, like music, need a sense of rhythm that affects everything from composition to editing

That was a mighty fine article right there
You know for a while there, I thought you really were Dent. The way you threw yourself after her.

Mighty fine one, Wally is the man. I am curious about this line "WP: The first two days of filming, which we did on IMAX, took place in Jodhpur, Rajasthan in India, where we shot portions of the story out in the desert that tie in with the Cardington sets...cardington sets are where they shot the prologue? Right? Maybe it means that Indian preason relates somehow to the prologue events
