Never been a big David Bowie (musician) fan, but always loved the Bowie actor. He's got such a presence on screen, such an enigmatic face, and a voice...

Nolan talked to Bowie for 5 minutes before Bowie accepted the part. Nolan also only had Bowie in mind, and he would not have made the film if Bowie had not jumped on board. Nolan is a good salesman I am sure.
