What? Can's say what I think? :-D Yup. Plus Ang Lee's Hulk>Incredible Hulk... WTF, he's running out of control, seize him! :o

I don't get ''Rise'', at least not from the human aspect, everyone was so bland: walking cliches (hello there, Malfoy) and (mostly) poorly written characters, no emotional connection at all (reminds me of ''Lost World'', where Jeff Goldblum and Julianne Moore are playing a couple, and yet there's not even a simple fucking kiss to remind us of that fact, not a single gesture to show that connection, same thing with Franco and Pinto, unconvincing). Now, Andy Serkis, he's a different story. Andy and WETA, there's the magic and soul of ''Rise'', still not good enough to hide the fact - script is not That good (as in: TOP 10 by Empire and so on).

Vs.

It's fascinating how much we can achieve today but one thing remains the same: actors hidden behind those masks, both Tim Roth and Andy Serkis were great. ''Planet'' (2001.) was more of a comeback to Heston SciFi formula (which I like and prefer), ''Rise'' was down-to-earth reboot worthy of a praise from many levels but mostly technical. As a movie, I'd give it 3/5.

^Exactly. Generally I totally like him, Franco really did it for me in, say: 127 Hours and City by the Sea. Here he couldn't do much, he was only a messenger of black & white story approach: humans are evil (mostly because Malfoy/Brian Cox/CEO douche are)-apes are innocent and more likable=they should live. How come one of my favorite SciFi's from the 60's became so predictable, boring, non-magical (I'm not talking gorilla smashing a helicopter scene)?

I'll just quit here but you get the idea.

''That's not true'', wow... :problem: Did I say it has to be your truth?

Last scene was okay, I thought they did a good job by shooting that scene additionally - everything with Andy was downright perfect but solo humans affair was, imo, just shooting blanks.

So... this is a thread about a Tim Burton film with Johnny Depp and Eva Green. How did you guys end up talking about Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Andy Serkis?

I know man... I know. Guilty as charged. Planet of the Apes by Tim Burton, that's the connection. Now I'd like to move on to DS but Tim doesn't share my enthusiasm, no trailer yet? WTF.

Dark Shadows will be awesome. I have a feeling this will borrow something from Sweeney Todd.
