Well, I mean...Nolan even said that "2001: A Space Odyssey" made HIM want to pursue filmmaking.
For me, when I was 10, I wanted to be a writer because I loved epic stories and etc. I was looking forward to "The Dark Knight" at that age because, well, it was Batman. But when I was watching it in IMAX, and all that, I was astounded not just by the action but by things I couldn't yet understand or analyze at that age-such as the cinematography, the way the plot laid out and thinking about all the work put into it. By the end of the film I felt like I wanted to work towards being a person that made films- which I realized soon was called being a "filmmaker". A year later I had watched all of Nolan's earlier films, a handful of Kubrick and Truffaut films and Mean Streets, all of which influenced me even more.
So the film that pushed me towards this field was "The Dark Knight"
You?
