Penn State Rape Scandal

It was not a student. It was an assistant coach that reported the incident to him in which he walked into Sandusky raping a little boy in the team locker room shower.

According to the case's Wikipedia page it was a "graduate assistant", which is a graduate student who assists the couches. The same concept as a teacher or professor's assistant.

I'm not going to sit here and say I read the full Grand Jury Report, but I'm 95% sure in the report it says Paterno saw with his two eyes Sandusky taking a shower with a little kid.

If that were the case Paterno would be prosecuted as an accessory. The Grand Jury didn't find him liable for anything.

But think about it why would this person make such a thing up? He mentioned it a higher power once and then never followed it up? Why would you not follow it up? Not to mention he let Sandusky come on the campus as late as LAST WEEK and sometimes with little kids. Knowing the information he knew how could he allow that to happen? It just simply does not add up.

I agree, not following it up is poor moral and ethical judgement.

The crime's are horrendous. And those who turned a blind eye to the crimes should be ousted and punished. Even if Joe Paterno did the minimum in reporting the crimes to the athletic department, he has done nothing (in my view) to justify keeping his job. He is without a doubt the second most powerful official on the campus and has no excuse for allowing Sandusky to violate children in athletic facilities, even if Paterno had no idea of it going on. Being a head coach makes you responsible for the actions of your staff.

They did the right thing by firing him. He's the head coach and he is in charge of the actions of the other people in the department. It's sickening that he let this go on for so long.

Shit is crazy. I know if I was in Joe's position I would tell more then just the head of the department... I would tell them as I informed the police as well. Fuck them all.
The original concept for the film was to make a movie about a man who wants to fight God.
