Could anyone give me a short intro of this series/movie phenomenon? Only heard of the title and looking through on wikipedia will take me a while.

1950's TV show. Each episode built around a different, usually supernatural, event. Like a creature destroying an airplane mid-flight but only one man notices. Or a man wakes up and the town is completely deserted. All this usually takes place in small-town America. Famous for Rod Sterling's monotone voice-over.

I've watched a handful of episodes recently and they're pretty hit and miss, but the classic ones definitely justify the show's following. If Nolan decides to direct I'd imagine he'd drop the campy aspects and focus on the show's unnerving, dark tone.

If Nolan agrees, he's out of my favorite directors list.

But if he makes a genius film, he'll be back 8-)

But I'm pretty sure he won't agree.

OMG!!! I would love it as well!! I loved the TV show, it's kind of creepy and weird and amazing (I love the Disney attraction they made out of it too  ) I know it would be all kind of fabulous if Nolan did a real movie out of it!!

I am surprised as to why Bay is up the top as being one of the chosen directors to take on such a project.

It just goes to show they don't have any real vision for the film. Just going for big names.

I just want to note that this directors list should hit M. Night Shyamalan fucking hard in the face. 7 or 8 years ago his name would have been on the top of the list for a TWILIGHT ZONE movie. Now?

Although the fact that he's directing a relatively high budget sci-fi thriller featuring Will Smith that will be shooting across the globe is surely enough to keep him quite happy, I think somewhere deep inside he knows that TWILIGHT ZONE used to be a type of project studios would throw at him.

Honestly, if anyone can pull off a fantastic Twilight Zone, it's Nolan. I'd be 100% down for it.

This possibility kind of scares me because of Nolan's limited control if he were to take one this project. I don't know if they would have him become a producer. I doubt he will get much involvement, if any, in writing. It's Nolan's level of control over a project which makes it so great. The less control he has over it, I feel, the less incredible it is. Of his 8 films, he had the least amount of control over Insomnia, and it's often regarded as Nolan's lesser film.

I don't like to see Nolan as a director who is picked for projects, I'd rather have him pick and initiate his own film.
