I feel stupid for not even considering this possibilty, but since Nolan's looking to close the story, it does seem like a distinct possibility.

Heck, even Gordon might bite it. I was initially thinking Nolan was going to kill off Bruce, but certain photos seem to point to a different fate for Bruce. Everyone else is in jeopardy, I'm thinking.

Nah, I don't think Gordon will die. He faked his death in TDK, I don't think we'll see a repeat of that and actually have him dead this time.

If Nolan kills both Alfred and Gordon, I'll bawl my eyes out.
Anyway I agree with chee, IMO Gordon is the "safer" of the two.

i think Alfred is definitely biting the bullet...Batman has to be alone to do what is necessary. such a lonely life :(

I would like to see Alfred has a badass moment where he fights off the thugs before getting dragged away by Bane (or even crack a blow on the man himself... :o with his bare knuckles or something really heavy)

Looks like we are in for a treat with Caine's performance as Alfred based off the trailer.

Alfred's death wouldn't be necessary in my humble opinion

Would they make Batman hurt even more by endangering his closest one (left)

Assuming that Bane figures out Batman's real identity.

Bane will know if he's truly apart of the LOS. The trailer even suggests he knows

The trailer makes it seem that Bruce isn't Bane's top priority
