Feeble as drama, woeful as history, misguided as adaptation. I'm really staggered by the arrogance of some choices that are distinctly less dramatic. Not only than Shakespeare, but history as well, particularly the fate of Thomas, the Duke of Clarence.

In spite of all this it's OK! A good allegory and the filmmaking on display is impressive. It feels immersive in new ways which is exciting, which gives it value that bloody Outlaw King lacked for.
Yeah. You can feel the good intentions, but this is mostly just a slog. It doesn’t work as drama, and it’s visually flat and too dark. In Dolby vision, I had to amp up the gamma considerably just to really “see” it.

I adored this movie tbh. Nicholas Britell won this over for me. The score reflects the king; considered, irenic yet conflicted, and at times full of vigor.

This was aight I guess. It got better over the duration of the movie, in my opinion. Robert Pattinson is the highlight even with what little he has, and Sean Harris was also excellent.
B+ I guess
