Also it's not really the same movie, a lot of the scenes are worse
The Lion King (2019)
The movie certainly hit my expectations as far as entertainment value goes, but was simultaneously a disappointment. I'm fine if the movie wanted to hit those same narrative beats as the original, but when you're lifting line-for-line dialogue, it strikes me as utterly lazy. Even the new material was pretty disposable. For the visuals and some of the renditions of the musical numbers alone, this is worthy of being named The Lion King, but I still was expecting so much more in the scripting department.
"A" from Cinemascore, same as Aladdin. Also the 10th highest opening day.
Not a surprise but this doesn't make it any less bad
I mean...no one, but does anyone here even care about the Cinemascore? That's hardly news -- let alone next to the actual news of the box office.
Probably a lot of people here? It's pretty relevant to a movie forum to see how average movie goers feel about different types of projects.

I vow to refer to this film as 'Simba: King of the Lions' from now on, which is likely the most interesting thing I can say about this film.
Anyone else feel like Beyonce was a miscast?
Visuals and soundtrack is great. Kinda relieved they didn't change the narrative.
