I always thought that the pitch for the original SS (them being a supervillain version of The Dirty Dozen) was the best way to approach the characters, but we all know how that ended up. That pitch is still a good pitch. Just needs a better execution. You can make a gritty, non-comedy SS movie and make it work.

I just lost all interest in this movie and Birds of Prey if they're straight up continuations of previous movies and not a soft reboot as previously reported.

I agree. It would definitely feel odd to now somehow pretend that movie didn't happen. Even if it was bad.
