I wouldn't be surprised at all if Trump gets re-elected. I hope the Democrats nominate someone basically all of them can rally behind.

I doubt that.

I've noticed one thing about American left, they tend to shun/denounce anyone who is even slightly on right than them.

If Trump gets reelected it will likely be because of voter suppression laws in certain states and low turnout. Low turnout people can counter by voting for candidates in the primaries that are on the same wavelength as most Americans. People who talk about universal healthcare, student debt, gun regulation, etc. and who the public trusts will stay committed to their policy positions are likelier to defeat Trump than someone who talks about superficial, incremental change. Elisabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders are the best candidates that have announced so far. The others are all playing catch-up because the Democratic base is to the left of where they have been their entire careers on most issues.

The left plays into purity politics too damn much and it's annoying. Some candidates might have some slightly right wing ideas but they will still be better than Trump.

I hope Biden doesn't run.

They're just gonna kill him with this kind of stuff.
Have you seen the YouTube videos? There isn’t much context when watching them but the way he was talking to the little girls was extremely weird.

Edit: Since I’m a noob and don’t know how to share YouTube videos on here on my phone. Just type in Joe Biden awkward kiss and it’s a video of him being weird with a really young girl.

Don’t be surprised if at some point a ton of stuff blows up on this guy.

Leftists know that right-wing Dems are better than Trump. But when you got principled, left-wing Dems announcing their candidacies why settle for centrists and centre-right people who surrender to Republicans every single time because they secretly agree with their corporate politics? Klobuschar seems to have routinely abused her staff, Harris decided to lock up parents for truancy, Booker is much too close to Wall Street and O'Rourke is the definition of empty style without substance. People can do much better than these guys and luckily there are candidates like Sanders and Warren who have held consistent and principled stances on a number of important policy issues that many people want to see addressed and they are doing it without corporate support. It's not a purity test when people point out that two candidates have been consistent, further to the left and better on many issues than the majority of the other Democratic candidates.

You do realize that parents going to jail for truancy is like a nationwide thing right? Are we really going to go after Harris for enforcing laws that are in place everywhere? And if you're a parent, your kid going to school should be a top priority. I can't believe we're going after someone who wants kids to be in school.

Warren was a Republican until her 30s or 40s I believe so no she is not "consistent."

Bernie is probably the only candidate who is the most consistent but he's not going to get the nomination because Americans still hate the word "socialism."

I can't imagine why.

Shitty educational system, fear mongering, and misinformation does that.

We're going after someone who thinks jailing a kid's parents is an acceptable solution to a problem as comparatively slight as truancy. If your kid doesn't want to go to school, maybe there are a bunch of social or other reasons for that, none of which jailing a kid's parents is going to resolve at all. Plus, Harris' staff advised her against it so, no, not everyone thinks this is an acceptable or even normal solution to the problem.
