Dare I say it? Assassin's Creed Odyssey is the biggest and most ambitious RPG since The Witcher 3. It's beating Origin's egypt in scope and complexity. It's sheer scale is rivaling Breath of the Wild, while it's richness of detail is only matched by it's predecessor in places as well as Rockstar's creations. While the game as a whole lacks a bit of focus and is no masterpiece, it's still the best entry in the series for me and definitively one of the best game worlds ever created.
Its gonna be that for just three more weeks
Drive by posts and against AC (finally) on top? The Rockstar fever is real. 🕷️

Well IMO Rockstar has never really gotten the RPG element to their games down, except for maybe Bully. Its sprinkled in there in RDR and GTA but it's pretty pedestrian. The stories and even the gameplay follow pretty linear paths. "Exploration" in Rockstar games is fairly predictable or limited. Like, there's not as much randomness as is advertised.

So while RDR2 will obviously fill the void left after RDR and GTAV 5 years ago (wow), I don't expect it to scratch the RPG itch like TW3 did.

It sounds like Odyssey is heavier on unguided exploration, which is a big pull for me.

Fallout 76 just sounds like it won’t be good on all previews I’ve seen. Even IGN’s previews seem to always be a little negative too.

Yeah I'll be skipping Fallout 76 on launch. Might pick it up after Christmas if word of mouth is good.

Meanwhile, the Soul Calibur 6 beta ran surprisingly well (at least for me). Really looking forward to the return of the tale of souls and swords in ten days.

So I actually gave Black Ops 4 Blackout a shot, for Battle Royale it’s decent. I just can’t for the life of me understand the huge hook it has for friends and other people (Battle Royals in general). I can mostly get into most really fun game modes but I just don’t get the addiction. When my friends dragged me on Fortnite I had an alright time but after a few matches it boils down to doing nothing but running around looking for weapons for 80% of it and then just a little action at the end.

Like I said, I don’t find it awful, but it all just seems like a giant game of hide and seek with guns lol. Got my first Solo Battle Royale win in anything which was rewarding though, I just see myself playing classic modes more.

Decided to pick up Black Ops 4 after all, even though I try to stay away from grindy, competitive FPS games (would donate my liver for a ps4 and spider man and rdr2). And it's actually pretty decent. Haven't played any BR's for pretty much a year, but Blackout is super fun. And I haven't enjoyed a CoD multiplayer as much as this since like Black Ops 1.

And of course, Zombies is a masterpiece like always. Too bad I don't know a soul who plays it.

For me:

1) Multiplayer (so tight, Treyarch is the only COD dev imo)
2) Zombies (unique, wacky, complex)
3) Blackout (not a fan of the genre but it’s fun and intuitive on a grand scale)
4) Specialist ‘Missions’ (worth it just to hear ‘that’ voice in your head  )

Blops IIII will last me (at least) a year, same as the last one.🕷️
