Movies about scandals are usually dialogue-driven and don't rely on visuals as their selling point. I don't see why would you need IMAX cameras to shoot a movie that will most likely involve people talking in rooms for most of its runtime. Unless Nolan wants to shoot some porn action on IMAX. And you are underselling the capacity of Imax to film anything. Just look a the bank heist in TDK and how incredible it looks. They can film the back of a person with Imax and that shit looks glorious.
