A list of recent movies that were / are being shot on celluloid (The Irishman, Ad Astra, Detective Pikachu , many indies).

Images shot and projected on film look magically organic and charismatically natural.

The chemistry is unbeatable.

Again i dont want to stretch a done debate, but all of your qualifiers are subjective, "organic" "natural", it just doesnt stand up to scrutiny mate, if you watched Steve Yedlin`s video you would perhaps understand the bias in your judgement.

PD: i know people are getting tired of this so ill end it here from my part, my apologies.

How can a video show what film looks like?

Yedlin used film image converted to digital as a reference and corrected the color of the digital image to make it look approximately the same. He couldn't do this if he had no access to the film image in the first place.

Imitation is the highest form of flattery.

What Yedlin showed was that you could achieve an approximate look only if you shoot film in the first place and only with heavy post processing.

Almost two years later, the guy himself shot The Last Jedi entirely on Kodak film.

I can't believe anyone on a fan forum for Christopher Nolan would think that he's incorrect about film being the superior format.

This discussion was never about negating the technical superiority of any of the former, i was just debating the dismissal of digital as a valid medium to tell stories, movies, and i was presented terrible arguments in favour of film, "no good story should be told on an iphone", i mean how hilariously biased is that argument.
15 perf 70mm is still the best image capturing format, no debates there, 35 ? not so much on the cutting edge anymore, hence why Chris only shoots large format these days.
also remember that film looses a considerable amount of detail once its copied for analog proyection.

i swear to god people dont even read what i write, they just answer bah duh film is better, keep shooting on your phone lol

Also also, im not implying that 35mm, or 16 or super8 or whatever shouldnt be used anymore because they are not "cutting edge" so please dont asume i just hate film because i frigging love celluloid.

Because of 35mm film, today we can see Pamela's beautiful eyes in their true glory in this remastered 16:9 version of Baywatch. Film is better :judge:
