An "event movie" means a large scale summer blockbuster. All these guesses are so far off lol. Do you guys even base them on reality???????? It will be a large sc-fi or action or adventure movie. There is no doubt about that simply based on the description "event movie" and the release date which is summer.
You saw Dunkirk, right?

He said that a lot of the responsibility to do that lies with filmmakers, “to use the big canvas that [exhibitors] can supply us, and tell stories in an exciting way, and bring fresh ideas, fresh takes on existing genres and new genres – inventing new genres.”
I think it's not necessarily wrong to assume that this untitled event project will be a original take on something like Dunkirk was. He will experiment something again.

He is most driven by narrative. Dunkirk was like the culmination of his abilities to interweave different timelines into a tight and thrilling narrative. Dunkirk has got a fantastic structure and it works incredibly well.

Too bad people in France don't understand this and have spent their time criticizing the movie for the reconstruction mistakes.

People in England using the film for nationalist propaganda are not much better... (give a look at the youtube comments on dunkirk videos)

Maybe the "romantic" part only is true, maybe it'll be a Wong Kar Wai-type thing

It's not low budget people! It's a freakin IMAX movie in July what's so hard to understand. He's not shooting Keys to the Street in IMAX.
