I'm not going to compare Dunkirk to any other Nolan film just because it's so vastly different to what we usually see from him.

Thoughtful and as in a movie that is set during a war. If you can think of any other movies that beats my comparison, please do share.

I might have to watch it again because it has been a while, but during ZD30 you don't get a chance to meditate on anything until after the movie ends where we get to reflect upon the manhunt for Bin Laden, which is what Maya is doing in the last scene. Dunkirk gives the audience the opportunity to reflect upon the events in mico-moments, like when the trio is sitting on the beach and we see what happens to the soldiers who either attempted to swim home who attempted to escape via the destroyers. I felt these moments more because they're immediate and in the moment, where ZD30 spans the manhunt over 10 years with each victory representing one step closing to winning the war; the small victories within one week during Dunkirk were more emotionally satisfying than the big victories lasting 10 years during ZD30.

Like I said, it's been a while since I've seen ZD30, so my memory is foggy.

I'm going again today. Pumped.
