Pardon me because I never really enter this thread so this has probably been said (and thought) a lot already, but this hadn't dawned on me until just now.

I can't wait until the day we see a trailer that says:

FROM ACADEMY AWARD NOMINEE CHRISTOPHER NOLAN

They don't really do that for directors. It's more for actors.

Plus, Nolan was already an Academy Award Nominee in 2000 (as a screenwriter)

You're right, the director pool is a lot smaller than the acting pool. True dat.

Plus, I think even if Nolan wins an Oscar, I think at this point his name alone is the marketing. like Spielberg, the academy award nominee/winner is not needed, bc everyone knows who they are
