If there was one internet database of all movie theaters with listings of their presentation formats and other technical information life would have been so much easier...

The Henry Ford IMAX in Dearborn, MI went digital. That was already a 2-hour drive, so it looks like I won't be seeing Dunkirk on film.

Now King of Prussia, PA (biggest IMAX near me) is not listed as having 70mm capability, although it apparently had it for Interstellar. It's digital now.

Expect Dunkirk's list to be smaller than Interstellar's.

that's where i went for Interstellar and it was the best theater experience of my life

however, when The Hateful 8 came out, they showed it in 70mm and their projectionist was apparently a fucking idiot because he actually broke the print, so they showed half the movie digitally

that was the worst theater experience of my life

so i don't know

at The Hateful 8, the manager was really rude too, and when the reel broke, she gave everyone free tickets and says, "this is why we don't do film."

i really, really, really hope they get Dunkirk in Imax, but considering how awful the management is there, i wouldn't be surprised if they didn't

I would have paid good money to see Tarantino at that screening.

Rogue One tickets go on sale at midnight tonight for the Thursday night premiere. I got in contact with my local (true) IMAX to check if there would be a Dunkirk prologue attached to the film. Unfortunately WB have not made any official announcement so the theatre couldn't say. But I'm going to purchase a ticket anyway just in case.

I'm going to see it in Dolby Cinema (assuming it will be screened there like all other blockbusters). The projection quality is better than those in a liemax cinema.
