This movie won't need any blood and gore to be impressive, overwhelming and intense. And if there is one thing I'm sure of this movie will be, it is that it will be intense.

I think it's alright to hope for a war movie to at least try and capture some of the violence for the sake of accuracy and more realistic portrayal of all the horror that happened. But a war movie does not need to be some kind of torture porn to be good, intense and realistic PERIOD. If some people obsess over this in an almost fetishistic manner, then I think it tells a bit about them as human beings.dormouse7 wrote:I'm seeing a LOT of gripers/whiners elsewhere about Nolan's WWII movie looking like it's not going to have graphic gore.
Prologue didn't have any gore in it and was fairly intense. I trust Nolan and his choices. He never disappointed me ever.
I totally agree. It's just frustrating to have that flood of gripers at the "elsewhere" where I am sort-of forum mother. Gonna be weeks until that stuff stops dominating the front page. I feel bad some of them pin the blame on Harry.Ruth wrote: I think it's alright to hope for a war movie to at least try and capture some of the violence for the sake of accuracy and more realistic portrayal of all the horror that happened. So I might be the only one with this (minor) problem but I've had a hard time deciphering Cillian's line in the trailer. What did he said after "I'm not going back"? All I could hear is "??? they will die".
He says "If we go there we'll die"Bale Fan wrote:So I might be the only one with this (minor) problem but I've had a hard time deciphering Cillian's line in the trailer. What did he said after "I'm not going back"? All I could hear is "??? they will die".
Thanks. Kind of mind blown, I never would have guessed he was saying that.AhmadAli95 wrote:He says "If we go there we'll die"Bale Fan wrote:So I might be the only one with this (minor) problem but I've had a hard time deciphering Cillian's line in the trailer. I know I know most of you think the guy is a clown but anyway I'll just drop this here.
Apparently he was asked by Nolan to conceptualise the trailer and supervise the edit and final mixing on his behalf (and he's also working on BTS stuff for the film? Guess we'll know for sure when the Blu comes out)
https://www.facebook.com/will.mccrabbVery depressed over the interweb's by and large negative reaction to the DUNKIRK trailer. The first of Chris' trailers in over ten years, hell maybe ever to receive comments like, " I only watched half because it was boring." Half of a two minute trailer?! And, "it was confusing, I couldn't tell what was going on."
Then there is the always charming, " THAT SUCKED!"
I can't help but feel responsible since I was asked to design this bit of marketing. The holidays always get me down but today I'm in blackness and all alone.
At least I have my own micro-budget film I'm working on and that gives me hope.
"Hope can be a weapon."
I thought that was a good logline.
I don't know, I just don't know anything anymore.
