I could not find that article with Google either with my normal Dunkirk Nolan search sorted by most recent, neither in Google nor Google News. I could only find that article with Google by searching for a unique quote from the article.

I think Rylance's character is at least partly inspired by Charles Lightoller, and Hardy's character may be partly inspired by Peter Cazenove.
