I'll bump this thread next week when everyone's seen it. But for now, Dodd, Lord Shade, and John75... you know what to do. Anyway...
I feel like a truly great film is one that's capable of doing more than just entertaining a viewer, it's instead one that's capable of inspiring a viewer, emotionally impacting them, changing their perspective on a certain subject matter, giving them understanding and wisdom, or even go as far as truly helping someone.
I won't say who, as to honor their privacy, but I had an absolutely great conversation with someone here who expressed how The Dark Knight helped them to overcome their depression, and gave them emotional support during a very, very dark time in their life. This is proof that films, like all forms of art, are far more then just entertainment. They really can act as a source of so many amazing things to a person.
So for those of who you have seen Interstellar... how did the film effect, change, or impact you?
