I don't believe in 'epic' numbers during the first two weekends, but you really don't need to know it's the same director as TDK Trilogy to watch it during late November/early December - IF you have the necessary push that is 'word of mouth'.
I believe that Interstellar, just like Inception, or even Avatar, has that necessary 6-60 factor. Something for everyone and a true sense of cinematic wonder.
