Great choice.

Let The Right One In alone is enough to let me know this dude is legit.

That being said TTSS looked great, and this choice is pretty intriguing. I cant help but view it as of now though as a downgrade from Wally. :shifty:
It was kind of obvious we were going to get a downgrade from Wally. Deakin and Cronenworth were unrealistic because of their preference for digital.

This is a very sound choice that makes plenty of sense. This choice actually makes me think this might be a more intimate film then most were expecting.

He has a definite style. I'm excited.

How is this a downgrade from Wally?

I agree. van Hoytema doesn't have a lot of CG experience it looks like, seems like Interstellar will be more drama-focused than action/sci-fi focused.

I love this choice! He was never on my radar just cause I thought he wasn't big enough. His work in films like Let the right one in, Call Girl and Flickan (The Girl) is amazing! He has won the swedish annual award for best cinematography for all three. :)

Anyone is a downgrade from Wally. ;)

But in all seriousness, this is a great choice, it's hard to find many great DP's that still shoot on film.
If she plays cranium she gives good brainium.

Nolan knows what he wants and he knows who to get for it.

I don't want to hear who it's a fucking step down.

You are way to sensitive, and I will say its a step down if I want. That's how much I love Wally, and admire his work. Hoytema is a talent though, and could prove me wrong.
