Interesting; I would've said that Inception was the one more in the vein of Stalker (basic outline of both: taciturn yet troubled man leads an expedition to a space representing the innermost psyche). Though, on reflection, the Mal storyline is fairly Solaris-y, isn't it?

Something along the lines of not being able to fix the past, or fixing the past only makes the present worse. A carpe diem sort of thing.
