Hey guys, so the script for Interstellar which has been around for quite a while now was written by Jonathan Nolan.. Steven Spielberg is rumored to be producing/directing but recently announced that his next big movie is Robopocalypse, another big sci-fi blockbuster set for 2012.

Does anybody else get the feeling that Chris Nolan is going to take on Interstellar after Dark Knight Rises.. I don't think Spielberg is up for, let alone capable of 2 epic sci fi movies back to back..

Can you imagine what Chris Nolan would do with material of this caliber too? Taken from IMDB:
"An exploration of physicist Kip Thorne's theories of gravity fields, wormholes and several hypotheses that Albert Einstein was never able to prove."

This can be the next 2001: A Space Odyssey, only Nolan style

Well just because he's doing another Sci-Fi film in the meantime, doesn't mean he's dropped it. By the sounds of it Intersteller seems to be still in "development".
Spielberg has in the past had films in development for ages like A.I, Munich, Abraham Lincoln biopic and Jurassic Park on top of my head. The only fim project/idea he gave up on (that I know of) that he felt couldn't be made into a film due to financial reasons was The Dig but was turned into a videogame instead.

Great game btw possibly one of my favs.

It would be really cool if he did, but he'd have to leave Warner Brothers, where he has almost complete freedom, to do it.

I'd like to see Nolan take on this sort of science fiction material.
He sure would have a lot of "In_____" movies in his filmography if he did
Insomnia, Inception, Interstellar
