If you're going to do Lex, he's got to have a position of real power in the real world. That's why I liked the oft-used "Lex for president" angle, since it gives Superman some degree of difficulty beyond Kryptonite.

Lex for president would work in with the change in presidents in 2013 aswell as an undertone of political corruptness and something beyond a rich evil guy.

It's also a great way to establish Lex as Superman's arch-nemesis which we never really got in previous films. Luthor's greatest weapon is his intelligence, not his comedic timing.

Im hoping for a mad scientist slash business mogul lex. A combo of All-Star Superman Lex and Red Sun Lex - superscience first and business/politics second.

Why cant they. Every Nolan fan is the target audience for 2D IMAX now and it would be awsome if we see Superman in not 3D

They could mention him as an Easter egg for the sequel - have the election coverage running on the TV in a bar where Clark hangs out - "billionaire Lex Luthor has decided to step in as a surprise candidate for the election...." or something in that vein.

I think thats what Snyder will do. It will be a small reference for such a big character. Maybe in the next, he'll be a big villian. Hes that kind of director (who wants to please the fans)

Were the rumors of Bradley Cooper making a surprise cameo as Lex towards the end of the film, just an actual fake rumor?
