I have complete trust in Nolan and have little to no concern about the film. But I do worry about the ending myself. I love a good resolve but the ending can make or break an entire legacy for me. There is no way the conclusion is going to please everyone. And there will be those haters that just didn't like a completion to the story at all and prefer things left open. It's possible Nolan can do an ending I don't like and that worries me as well. But I doubt it. I love Nolan's films so much because he doesn't let his ego get in the way of storytelling. He lets the story go in the direction it is headed. However the story ends, it will be an obvious and clear fit while being a surprise at the same time. My only real concern with the ending is can it top The Dark Knight? Because that is my favorite ending of all time period.

I hate Lost now and forever because of that horrid ending. I can't even stomach that show anymore. :suicide:

I went back a few months ago and rewatched Lost. I haven't been excited for anything like the anticipation of waiting for new episodes of Lost until TDKR came along. That last episode of lost was the fucking iffy I'll give you that by a mile. Breaking Bad is another can't wait to see. I don't have AMC and since the crack down on file sharing I have to wait until DVD as I do not torrent.

The ending will be EPIC, I trust in Nolan

Meantime, we’re going to be treated to what I’m told, by one of the chiefs on the distribution side, is a helluva Batman movie in “Dark Knight Rises” – a film that’s as good as, if not better than the seemingly untoppable “The Dark Knight”. Apparently we’ll fear Bane, cheer and be in awe of Hathaway’s turn as Catwoman, and be amazed at some of the ostentatiously constructed action sequences on show. Bring it

Apparently it's the ending they've planned since TDK. Goyer said he got a lump in his throat when he finally saw it on film.

Exactly.
As it has been noted many times over, Nolan was convinced by his brother and Goyer that there could be a proper ending--and, it seems, the only possible ending--to their Batman story.
I mean, I'll go ahead and put all my cards on the table now and say Nolan and co. are going to give us the best ending to a Batman film thus far and quite possibly one the greatest endings to a trilogy as well.
Because, more than anything else, we're dealing with the end of a whole of a Batman story with three acts.
This has never been done before.
The ending to TDKR will not only succeed as a great ending to that film but also as the definitive ending to Nolan's Batman universe.
There's no logical reason for me to go into this film with set expectations; Nolan believes this is the very best possible ending to their story, period.
I believe in Christopher Nolan.

I believe that on his watch, we can feel a little safer, a little more optimistic.

Assuming the final scene has something to do with Batman, do you really think that Nolan and Goyer would've visioned (from before BB) a final scene in the trilogy in which a cop named John Blake puts on the cape and cowl and continues his legacy? That sounds pretty ridiculous. I could see Nolan keeping Bruce and Batman alive, or dead, but either way I don't think anyone is going to take over the cowl, much less John Blake doing it.

I really think this thread should have been started AFTER the movie actually came out. By the time it gets here, there will be hundreds of pages to flip through just to find legitimate reviews.

Not to mention you should be posting plot speculations in its own thread. Things like this throw off the whole forum.
