You cant just have drama and action. We need a rest with comedy. The Bruce/ Alfred relationship aswell as Catwoman/ Batman

It will be a Goodfellas comedy.

Those little comedic moments are what made the original Star Wars so much fun and one of the more important things that Lucas abandoned in Episodes 1-3. While I'm sure TDKR will be a serious and dark film, I think there's plenty of room for an ironic and/or funny quip here and there.

Prestige was Sci-fi ..

It had Sc-Fi Elements, but it was more of a Thriller.

The Prestige was a period piece with sci-fi elements involved.

I actually think it will have more comedy than BB and TDK. I know it's ballsy of me to claim this, but hear me out. TDKR is supposed to be less dark than TDK which had a good amount of comedic moments (depending on what you find to be funny) and the less dark a movie, the more room there is for a little humor. It won't be laugh out loud humor, but there'll probably be some one liners that can get snickers.

The Dark Knight was comedic gold! The pencil trick, the nurse outfit, the scar stories, etc. Anyone who thinks comedy can't be serious needs to go watch some Kubrick movies.

I think Nolan's humour has become more subtle. In Batman Begins there were some pretty simple one-liners:

"You never learned to mind your surroundings!" - Batman just quoting Ra's
"Do I look like a cop?"
"I'm Batman!"
"Sorry!" - Gordon sweeping away some cars
"I've got to get me one of those" - Gordon wanting Batman's car

In The Dark Knight, "jokes" are being delivered by plain surprise rather than cheesy marks:

- The pencil trick
- The Joker just being plain impolite to the mob ("You think you can steel from us and walk away?" "Yah.")
- The remote control of the dynamite in the hospital not working

My guess is that laughs in TDKR will be delivered by Bane's arrogance and Catwoman's tricks.

I don't know....Bane doesn't seem to be the sort of guy who has a sense of humour.

Good point. Hardy said that he's absolutely serious and there are no jokes about him, you're right. On the other hand I don't see why serious actions shouldn't be funny to the audience - with brutal scenes, people get scared, then released, then they laugh.

I also think the Joker didn't intend to be funny with his pencil trick. He just scared the mob off by showing them how surprisingly dangerous this clown can be.

There has been humour in his films like in The Prestige when Fallon shoots the coffin and Cutter says "Saves me cutting you an airhole!". But, do you think he would have the right type of humour a film? Something like Dr. Strangelove.

To be fair, there's no geniunely well-done humour in any of his films. It's not that he's not capable of it, I just think he can't be bothered.
I don't think he'll want to ever make a comedy, considering his current filmography, I don't think he'll go off and direct a side-splitting whack-fest.

Also, the "saves me cutting an airhole" gag wasn't played comedically, it just showed Cutter getting angry. It was also a one-off since it was Michael Caine again.

Personal opinion. Stop acting like it's universally not funny. In my opinion I think Nolan adds comedy for the masses. The masses don't like movies that are too serious and with a movie like TDKR with a 250 mill budget it needs to earn quite a lot at the box office, that humor adds to the potential audience for the movie.
