I don't wanna waste time making a whole thread so this one seemed appropriate enoof...

I cant find a good IMAX in my area. The only ones are Domes

Should I just go there or see it in a regular place? Thanks.

Is there anyway for you to see a movie in the dome IMAX before release? That way you can see how it looks/feels.

I am not even kidding when I say I will be buying 50 tickets to this movie opening day. Why? Well because I want to. And I want this film to win.

I don't recommend seeing it on a dome IMAX.

I know exactly where and when I'll be come July 20th. I got my Imax tickets back in December at Lincoln Square in NYC. I plan to be on line by 5 or 6 for the midnight show. Bringing my Ipad with me and watching BB and TDK while I wait. Then watching TDKR. Going home and then going to see it again Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Saved my past week of Vacation for TDKR's first week of release.

My plan is similar. After the show ends, I'm going to Denny's, eat a no expectations breakfast, go home, review it, play video games then go see it again when the theater opens. Then possibly going Saturday....if tickets are available ....

I'm debating going to The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan for the midnight showing. By "debating," I mean I've already decided and it's now just a matter of convincing my girlfriend. It's 2 hours away, but it's the closest 70mm IMAX theater that isn't a dome, and the others are science centers that only show documentaries/educational films. I called to confirm that they would be screening it (I assumed they would since they had the prologue, which I missed out on) and to make sure the theater still uses a film projector and hasn't been converted to digital. I was told to check back around the first week of July to purchase tickets. I've never been to an IMAX theater and would love my first experience to be The Dark Knight Rises. Are any of you familiar with that theater (how nice is it, when should I plan on arriving, etc)? More generally, how is the IMAX experience?

never watched TDK in IMAX (too expensive) but it still looked incredible and I believe people when they tell me it was awesome in IMAX but i believe I can enjoy TDKR in a regular cinema as well as in an IMAX theatre.
