(UPDATE: Warners says Nolan could still make small technical tweaks to the movie, so it's not quite ready for screenings.)
so yeah,if WB is stating this the movie pretty much is rated and essentially already finished 3+ months early
Nolan always finishes ahead of schedule, but 3+ months early has to be some kind of record, even for him!
They were still doing sound mixing for TDK this time 4 years ago! Who knows, they might consider that a "small technical tweak" haha. Maybe not if they imply a lot of gore with the sound...
It's also possible, as someone earlier mentioned, that they might take stuff out, which wouldn't make the rating worse. PG-13 was the most it would gt with a rough cut, so they could take stuff out and it wouldn't make a difference. Unless they took out the sensual parts and there would be much rioting.
There's also the question of why Nolan/WB felt the need to advertise the rating (although as privately as possible) this early. They have all the time n the world to sit on this edit and wait a bit for the rating, but they went out and did it this early even though everyone already pretty much knew what it was going to be anyway.
Are they trying to intimidate the pants off everyone else this summer?
