From RiM himself: "Okay people… this is a little bit weird & out of control, so let’s set things straight once and for all. First of all, I have nothing against any of you. I’m perfectly positive, not angry, threatened or pissed.
I take fu...ll responsibility for spreading the word (that’s what I do) and giving you updates on the Expo, but I wasn’t the one who saw TDKR footage – I just shared the opinions and experiences of the other people, that attended the same event (Expo) to keep everyone in touch. As all of you, I am anticipating the movie with all my heart, and as all of you, if there’s any kind of new info on the horizon – I would like to know what it contains and share it with others.
Now let’s take a clear look at the situation:
A week ago or so I’ve said that WB is going to be present during the Expo on the 15th of March? Did it happen? Yes. I’ve said that they’re going to show their new 2012 slate at the presentation, but I’ve also mentioned is that there might be a possibility of the new TDKR stuff being there, because during the past years every other company always presented exclusive trailers and footage to the attendees & press.
Yesterday they’ve had their panel & they’ve showed TDKR footage. Several people have tweeted and posted things about how great it was, but, strangely enough, none of them had any descriptions on the same day. Yet, I’ve shared this with you, guys, because as many of you I was excited and hoping to get a proper description of the new footage later in the day.
Turns out, that the very same people who tweeted about the footage haven’t seen or weren’t aware of the previous trailers. That is because a lot of reliable Russian movie websites posted their coverage of yesterday’s panel and confirmed this morning, that what WB reps. showed the old content of the film, rather than the new one. And there’s that. It was totally new for these people (unlike many of us, fans & moviegoers), since the Expo audience consists not only from the critics, promoters and marketing people, but also from a variety of other folks from the film industry.
That’s understandable. Can we blame them? No, since not all of them have seen it before and they just wanted to share their excitement with others. I’m also quite sure, that they are busy with something else in their lives and are not spending days and nights searching through every bit of info about the upcoming movie.
I apologize, that I’ve caused this mass confusion among the members of this forum and the people on Twitter. But try to understand, that I was doing it for the best of intentions, not because that suddenly one day I decided to go ‘all mad & crazy’ and lie to everyone about what was going on.
I hope that you’ll understand the whole nature of the situation and that you’ll be able to accept me, as you did in the past. After all, my job is to promote various kinds of comic book-related things and I’m trying to do justice to it. I’ve been a fan of the superheroes from the very childhood and I think, that there’s nothing wrong with sharing the excitement, experiences, bits, details and exclusives with any other fans. I always think of it as a pleasant thing, since it keeps us all united and interested in every superhero from every company.
