Then there is no need of introducing a new villain.

But still, Batman 3 doesn't need Catwoman. It's the ending of a story, and introducing Catwoman would be a new chapter in Batman's life, so it would be pretty hard to end the story after that.

I agree with that. The next chapter is going to finish Batman's story, at least in the current arc, Catwoman is more of the opening of a new chapter. I think Riddler, Black Mask, Rupert Thorne, Hugo Strange and such would work better to service that end.

And, I posted this on another thread, but it fits:

A woman who dresses up in a leather cat costume (and therefore could easily be shot, stabbed, beaten severely, i.e. DIE) swinging from rooftops like Indiana Jones is not realistic. Batman's suit works because it is BODY ARMOR. It was an infantry bullet proof design that was tailored to look like a bat, not the other way around. Unless Selina Kyle can have access to the R&D department of Wayne Enterprises and make a military suit look like a cat, she would not last one night on the streets of Gotham;. It's not plausible.

There is going to be some kind of side character who is a woman, I don't see her becoming a love interest though. And frankly, I'd rather her not be a love interest, how many super hero movies or big budget films do that? Write in a new female character and not have the lead fall head over heels for her.
She would have relevance to the plot, story, and have some sort of impact on the Batman character. But let's skip on the crappy love stuff, this is the end of the series and it would feel rushed.

Rachel only got away with it because she knew Bruce since they were children (that and the fact that she pretty much said 'no'
to him). A new female character doesn't have that luxury.

That leaves DiCaprio, Gordon-Levitt, Cotillard, Page, Hardy, and Berenger.
I would love to see many of these actors in Batman 3 (or all of them), but I have a feeling it'll be limited to Hardy, Berenger, and then either Page or Cotillard to fill in the void of a major female character.

Berenger would be cast in the vein of Eric Roberts or Rutger Hauer.

I can see Tom Hardy being cast as a villain over Gordon-Levitt or DiCaprio. Especially since Hardy's role doesn't appear to be as large as DiCaprio's or Gordon-Levitt's in Inception. But maybe Gordon-Levitt could be cast in a non-villain role...

I honestly don't care anymore. I'm sure what ever the Nolan brothers decide will be good. Just as long as its not Catwomen. No smilie face after that, I'm dead serious.
