You people take shit so seriously, he's kidding around. All of his fans are those of Batman so of course he'll joke around about the Avengers vs TDKR debacle. Get a fuckin grip on laugh and laugh once in a while.

Matthew Modine has a strong opinion about a film he's in made in a way he prefers.

Why is this a bad thing? Should he just be quiet and say: "I think Avengers is good and TDKR will be good"

The man has an opinion and has had the chance to work with Nolan and is privy to contents of the story that we are not. If those facts lead him to the conclusion that TDKR is going to trump Avengers in every way, I'd be excited because Avengers was good. So for a movie to be /That/ much better than Avengers that's going to blow me away.

Don't fall into the Political Correctness Hype. It's DC v. Marvel. It's Modine's subjective opinion about film making vs. People's needs to not have the thing they like so much talked badly about at all.

That's exactly what it is.

People ask Modine about Avengers and TDKR and he answers them honestly. Yet people want to hang him for having an opinion and a preference to one film over another. Why? Because a large group of us feel like you shouldn't ever speak bad about things that people like.

When honestly Modine hasn't really said much in the way of "Avengers sucks" more like "TDKR is going to be better"

I don't see why people would be in such a tizzy about it. It's his opinion, most of what he says is put in a humorous tone and connotation anyway.

Oh and BTW, hasn't RDJ talked plenty of shit about Batman, especially back in 08 when TDK was coming out? I'm pretty sure he has. Modine is just getting even.

I'm astonished that anyone with any sense could be offended by Modine's comments. Trash-talking happens all the time in other industries. People rarely mean what they say, but do so to generate interest and discussion.

I've found his comments amusing, in the same way I would find - for example - anyone connected with Avengers Assemble saying that The Hulk would tear Bane apart like a crusty bread roll.

It's funny how people are getting mad and then saying something worse and even personal.
