As a Bane moment I'd say it's probably the 2nd speech, in front of Blackgate, especially the montage with "Step forward those who would serve, for an army will be raised". That monologue is ... pure evil. Like a true dictator. He's so menacing, so powerful, so ...brilliant.
There's also the scene in the prison, where Bruce asks "Torture?" and he responds "Yes. But not of your body........................................ of your soul". That long pause, the way he says "soul". I get goosebumps every time.
The first fight, "I AM the League of Shadows". And basically, every quotes from that scene is incredible.
Of course, the well known stadium scene. "Now, the bomb is armed, and the bomb is mobile".

Bane is one of the best villains of all time. I was so on Joker's side until now. Bane is superior in every way, imo. And probably my favorite Nolan character.

Somewhat samey here. Lately I've been completely obsessed with the Blackgate speech. I absolutely love how Tom manages to combine fear and humour in that scene. The way he climbs up on the hood of the tumbler and just yells "BEHIND YOU" (I laughed so hard the first time I saw that), then changes the seriousness in the tone of his voice in a wicked fashion when reading from Gordon's notes.
"I mean, it's Batman, for God's sake, not Richard III. We should just go goofy with it."

It's quite fun...creepy and intriguing at the same time:-) And speaking of the Stock Exchange scene...I didnt realize this until the second time I saw it and Law of 4 pointed it out to me in a post. Did you hear the growl he gave one of the stock exchange members ? He gave a little head nod afterwards...but the growl was....priceless:-)

OMG, the growls!! LOVE them! There are two actually, and depending on your theater's sound system they are easier to hear in some theaters than others. The first one is in the opening sequence...when the plane goes vertical and it's the shot of Bane where he's kind of holding on by one arm and steadies himself with one foot against a seat; that's when he growls. The second, as you pointed out, is in the stock exchange scene.

I just got back from viewing #7. The first three were in IMAX, then the next three were regular theaters before going back to IMAX today, and let me just say GO TO IMAX if you can. So amazing. Bigger Bane is Better Bane!

Totally agree with everything you said. LOVE how he says, "Step forward those who would serve," particularly "serve". Just makes you want to jump right up and volunteer for him no matter what the task, eh? Talk about charisma! And the prison monologue is pure genius in delivery and in the acting Hardy does with his eyes there. Holy crap, just fantastic.

Something cool I noticed for the first time today. In the first scene down in the Bat Cave, there is water falling in the background and water all around as usual, and that so parallels Bane's new "home" underground. In the fight scene there is water all around, etc. Awesome parallels for the characters.

Tom Hardy as Bane

I just got back from seeing TDKR (only my second time so far  ) and it was way better the second time. I noticed so much more of the little things. Anyways, I didn't know where to put this so I'll put it here:

Did anyone else notice during the opening Bane scene on the plane, when they are taking the blood from Dr. Pavel and putting it into the dead guy... one cool little thing I noticed was they were pumping the dead guys heart to get the blood to go throughout his body. It may not sound like much but I thought that little detail was awesome. I didn't see anyone on here mention that, so I'd just thought I'd contribute.

Also, Tom Hardy's eye movements are outstanding obviously, but when he is talking to Bruce in the pit and he leaves long gaps between words ("not of your body........ of your soul"), his eye movements and how he conveys meaning to those words is brilliant in that scene especially.

Yes, he's almost zen in that scene. He's very different in that scene than any other in the movie, being back "home". As I've said before, it speaks volumes about Bane's "mind over matter" strength to return to a place that was such a horror for him in his younger years (poor thing  ).

Something I haven't seen discussed about Bane's costume is the leather brace on his right wrist. It reminds me of the brace I used to wear for carpal tunnel (but his is an awesome leather, of course). Has anyone read/heard anything about why he wears this and what purpose it serves? It always strikes me in the Batman/Bane fight scenes how Batman has protection from head to toe, but all Bane really has is his vest. This speaks to his amazing body strength. In that first fight he just absorbs so many of Batman's blows with little more than a turn of the head. Awesome.

It's never specified what he's on other than some sort of anesthesia. I find this interesting because most people who are on any kind of high dose pain killers is far from highly functioning like Bane. So I attribute this to his awesomeness. :-D

I posted this link in the "Bane's Voice" thread but thought I'd post it here as well so my fellow Baniacs won't miss the goodness: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGCoL7zQbKU

Definitely seeing it in IMAX on Friday and will be listening for that growl in the opening sequence:-)

There's been lots of debate and chatter on here about that wrist guard, some people think it's just a nod to the comics because in the comics Bane wears something similar, the only difference is he wears it on his other wrist in the comics. Some people thought it was going to be used for falconry..ect. Part of me thinks it was just a nod to the comics and it also happens to be on the same wrist and hand that Hardy has permanently injured. If you notice he can not straighten his left pinky all the way and you can really tell it in the 'Do You Feel In Charge" scene. Such a cute pinky..;-)

Also, thanks for the Do You Feel In Charge clip;-)

i can't imagine reading the comics now without imagining bane having Tom Hardy's voice now. they were right. Either you try out something strange that will stick in the public's mind or you do something that people expect, in which case it becomes less surprising and less interesting.

I think that's just a visual reference to the previous versions of the character. Typically the glove acts as a way for him to control his Venom, as seen here:

Since he doesn't use that in the film and there doesn't appear to be a a way for connecting it to his mask for his anesthetic, it's just a visual nod.
