I think the contradiction between The Dark Knight Rising and the Legend Ending is very interesting. I've wondered a couple times whether you could apply "The Legend Ends" to Dent's being defamated.

I saw that, and it is entirely possible. I really do think, like I said on the last page, that this is one tagline used for marketing. It is easy to forget that most people don't follow this stuff like we do. Most people won't consciously realize that this is by the same director as Inception, or even think that this is the same team that made The Dark Knight. I hope I'm wrong, I really do.

Batman's 8yr. period of rest ending
Gotham peace time ending
Harvey Dent's facade being made known
The legend of Batman as a murderer ending
Gordon being shooed out
The end of the trilogy as a group of films

Is meant to sound like an addition but repeats exactly what we just got done saying but with even less info. We are talking about how vague the tagline could be and you say "Oh, yeah so in this case the legend has to end." In what case? It doesn't make sense. You're basically just repeating the tagline with no added info.
