Over the weekend, vocalist Olivia Safe tweeted that Hans Zimmer recently contacted her to sing on the Interstellar soundtrack. For those not in-the-know, a category that recently included myself, Olivia Safe is a British coloratura soprano soloist. She is perhaps best known for her appearances on Jeff Beck’s 2010 album Emotion & Commotion. Her highly agile voice has gives her the ability to master many different styles, including opera and musical theater.

Composer Hans Zimmer is known for featuring various artists and musicians from around the world on his scores. For Christopher Nolan’s Inception he got guitarist Johnny Marr, and for Man of Steel he assembled a massive group of percussionists including Pharrell Williams and Sheila E. Who knows how Hans plans on using Olivia for Interstellar, but the prospect certainly sounds exciting. To hear a taste of what Hans has in store for us, check out the official teaser trailer to hear some of his original music for the film. Interstellar hits theaters November 7, 2014.
