Ellen Burstyn, Timothee Chalamet, & Mackenzie Foy Join Cast

A lot of the major roles in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar started to fill up over the past several months, but now we’re starting to get word about some of the other supporting roles that will be filling out the film. The Wrap (via Interstellar-Movie.com) reported early today that Oscar winner Ellen Burstyn will be joining the already stellar cast. Burstyn, who won the Academy Award for her leading role in Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, is likely best known for her roles in The Exorcist and Requiem for a Dream. Much like the rest of the casting, her role is being kept secretive.
Additionally, The Wrap reported that Nolan is looking to cast Timothee Chalamet in an unspecified role in Interstellar. Chalamet is best known for his role as Finn Walden, son of the Vice President on Homeland. Meanwhile, THR revealed that Mackenzie Foy is also in final negotiations to join the cast. Foy played the daughter of Bella and Edward in the Twilight series, and can be seen next in The Conjuring. As always, Foy’s character details are being kept under wraps.
Shooting is set to start on Interstellar next month in Alberta. Film crews have been seen around the Olde Towne Plaza in Okotoks, and scouting the Main Street of Nanton. Local publications (via Interstellar-Movie.com) have been slowly reporting about activity happening around their towns. Director Christopher Nolan, Cinematographer Hoyte von Hotyema, and various other crew members had been spotted throughout the Alberta region, though word is out now that Christopher Nolan and Visual Effects Supervisor Paul Franklin may currently be in Iceland.
